I had almost no experience shooting slide film, mostly due to the comparitively high price compared to regular film and the added cost from developing. However I managed to acquire multiple rolls of expired AgfaPhoto CT Precisa 100 for next to nothing, so I decided to give it a shot.
This is my second roll so far. While the first is being processed all the way in Spain, I thought I'll give Redscale a go and have the roll cross processed. I didn't have high hopes, but the results ended up being more interesting than I enticipated.
I overexposed the film by two stops and the amount seems just about perfect to leave the image deep red.
The slightly misty air gives the photos a slight sense of dread. I'm not sure if I like the green grain added by either age or the cross processing, though it does make me think of an irradiated wasteland.
Here the high contrast and long exposure created an interesting effect with a passing bicycle.
Here is one of the shots I wish were cleaner and lacked the green grain. The clear air and city lights look less apocalyptic but give off an interesting vibe regardless. I'll see what I can do with further processing in Lightroom.
Here I tried to get rid off the distracting green grain. The contrast is certainly aggressive.
It was an interesting experiment. I'm looking forward to seeing what the film looks when processed regularly. I might even try redscale again, though waiting 3 weeks for a roll to process is ridiculous.
